Intriguing, moving and packed with humour, this is the story of the oddball inhabitants of Crubscome village and their struggle to get to grips with the twenty-first century.

After years of being an adventure playground for local teenagers and a base for eccentric folk musicians, an abandoned quarry claims a young life and attracts public attention.

The village is divided between campaigners who want the site cleaned up and Jimmy and the folk club die-hards, who don’t. Jimmy’s attempts to find a compromise seem to make matters worse. Who will win the battle of the hills?

Sian M Williams was born in Cardiff and grew up in North Wales. She has written plays for Radio 4 and Radio Wales, and her stage monologues have toured extensively in the West of England. She has worked as an archaeologist, and is an amateur folk singer and clog dancer. Since 2013, she has been an active member of Frome Writers’ Collective, co-ordinating their scriptwriting group. She now lives somewhere between Rome and Shepton Mallet.
