James Carter is a prize-winning children's poet, non-fiction writer and musician. He travels all over the UK and abroad with his melodica, giving action-packed poetry/music performances and workshops. In the last two decades he has visited over 1500 primary and prep schools, and performed at many festivals.  His previous books for younger children are CLiPPA-shortlisted Zim Zam Zoom, illustrated by Nicola Colton, and A Ticket to Kalamazoo!, illustrated by Neal Layton. His collection of poems for 7-plus, Weird, Wild and Wonderful, is also illustrated by Neal Layton. He lives in Oxfordshire.

Neal Layton studied Graphic Design and Illustration at Newcastle University and Central St Martin's School of Art. His images are prized for their spontaneity and inventiveness. His picture books include The Tree, The Story of Stars, and A Planet Full of Plastic. He lives on the Isle of Wight.
