This collection of over 200 old photographs of Bootle is a fascinating archive of a lost age. The photographs cover a period from the 1890s right up to the 1970s and show in detail how dramatic have been the changes in both the appearance of the area and the lifestyle of the people.
These photographs illustrate a time when Bootle had its own police force, fire brigade and trams, and a time when the docks were in their heyday and great liners graced the quaysides.
