Erin Allgrove lives in Devon where she spends much of her time by the water dreaming up unlikely tales about sailing dogs as well as being part owner of the well known Maltsters Arms in Tuckenhay.

Bosun Bob, The Salty Old Sea Dog (published May 2024) and Bosun Bob And The Cat With No Name (published March 2025) have quickly become popular with young readers, their parents and grandparents. Erin's style is timeless and little nostalgic and her playful writing style really demonstrates her love of unusual words (and sea creatures).

Erin wrote her first book Bosun Bob the Salty Old Sea Dog whilst living onboard her yacht Rocket, sailing from Exmouth to Croatia (and back)! With her family and dog Bob. Her love of sailing and books was inspired by her dad also called Bob who shared his love of boats and reading with Erin. Her favourite stories are from JRR Tolkein and Nevil Shute whom they read together when Erin was growing up.

Before writing children's books, Erin had a successful career in marketing and public relations working in a variety of sectors including film and TV, higher education and latterly healthcare, where she progressed to executive management and eventually ran a hospital, during and after the pandemic.

Erin is most passionate about children's literacy and supports schools, bookshops, literary events and arts festivals whenever she can, she loves meeting young readers and engaging in conversations about the books that they love.

Erin also loves being mum to Jasmine Pearl who loves to read and make up stories, especially next to the fire or by candlelight.
