Richard Stubbings’ interest in buses was sparked at an early age, watching the Bristol K-types and FLFs of Western National trundling back and forth outside his childhood garden.
This book, the first of three making up a nostalgic tour of his native West Country, comprises previously unpublished photographs from his collection showing Bristol and Somerset from the early 1970s to the present day. It charts the changes in vehicles from the author’s childhood to the current scene, even revisiting many of the same locations.
Richard Stubbings has been a keen bus enthusiast since the age of about 5. Although working as a professional musician and teacher, he started getting into bus photography during the 1970s and has over the years amassed a large collection of both bus and train photographs. He lives with his partner in Somerset.
