The work of a young French artist (daughter of Brigitte Macron) who combines art and DNA. A book halfway between biological techniques and pure plastic art.
The artist duo Laurence Graffensttaden creates unique paintings in the world from human cells. Combining art and science, the couple reveals the inner beauty of man through an aesthetic that is both immediate and hyper-conceptual. In just 2 years of existence, Laurence Graffensttaden has managed to free themselves from a celebrity image to be exhibited in museums and even begin an artistic adventure in China. Through a multitude of portraits of anonymous people and celebrities, collaborations, self-portraits and tributes, this art book is the DNA of their philosophy.
Text in English and French.
Laurence Auzière-Graffensttaden, born in 1977 in Amiens, cardiologist and eldest daughter of Brigitte Macron. He is Matthieu Gasser, pseudonym Graffensttaden, born in 1977 in France. They met and loved each other in the 90s during a stay in the mountains, lost touch, each led a full life (marriages, children, careers, etc.) before meeting again in 2022. Laurence is deeply joyful and her energy is incredible. Matthieu is perpetually a dreamer and his desire for fulfillment is infinite. Together, they exude a conviction of life that transcends all boundaries. Their youthful love and their reunion are worthy of a fairy tale. The celebrity magazines were not mistaken. But it is indeed their art that exalts our sensitivity and touches us right in the heart.
