In 2012, Specialist Summerfield and the 2-508th Parachute Infantry Regiment were deployed to the Kandahar province of Afghanistan. E.E. Summerfield spent part of 2012, 2013 and 2014 in Afghanistan conducting both combat operations and personal security details. He has a bachelor’s in military leadership and a master’s in homeland security and emergency management. He lives in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
