Wittenberg is the author of 22 books on the Civil War and is a member of the boards of directors of the Central Virginia Battlefields Trust and Little Big Horn Associates and also serves as the program coordinator for the Chambersburg Civil War Seminars and Tours. He is an attorney in private practice in Columbus, Ohio.
