This book is a translation of the original, in Dutch, brought about by the overwhelming demand of his English speaking students. Books have been written about herbs with a little astrology added, about outer planets with a little naturopathy added, and about the astrological symbolism of body parts and functions. But none of these books is really about classical medical astrology: practical diagnosis and treatment on the basis of charts. Medical astrology has always been an integral unity of astrological diagnosis and treatment based on the planetary positions. This integral and seamless unity is the central theme in this book, which picks up the thread of the great tradition which ended temporarily in seventeenth century England. It is now undergoing a revivial as modern astrologers rediscover the authenticity and value of the classical techniques.
Oscar Hofman is a popular teacher and astrologer in the Netherlands. He trained in London with John Frawley and he holds the diplomas of Horary Craftsman and Craftsman Astrologer. Oscar also runs an astrology school and is the editor of Anima Astrologiae, a Dutch magazine dedicated to traditional astrology
