Michael B. Smith is Professor of Chemistry at the University of Connecticut at Storrs. He is the author of Volumes 611 of the Compendium of Organic Synthetic Methods, coauthor of the fifth and sixth editions of March's Advanced Organic Chemistry, with Jerry March, and author of Organic Synthesis, Second Edition as well as several monographs.
