A captivating visual presentation of Es Devlin’s personal and inherently collective art practice, now available in a new compact edition with additional content.

Artist and designer Es Devlin's outstanding works span the fields of art, theatre, opera, dance, fashion, sculpture, poetry, light and music. Her practice has helped engender innovative forms of kinetic sculpture and her creative vision has filled millions of people with wonder: from installations at Tate Modern, kinetic stage designs for Olympic opening ceremonies, and monumental stage sculptures with celebrated musicans globally. Devlin’s work is at once deeply personal and inherently collective, engaging with biodiversity, linguistic diversity and collective AI-generated poetry.

Following the success of Devlin's award-winning sculptural monograph, An Atlas of Es Devlin (2023), A Concise Atlas of Es Devlin maintains the experiential design of the original in an accessible, smaller format with thirty new projects from Devlin’s recent output, including collaborations with Lady Gaga, Gucci and the V&A. Coinciding with the Design Museum's retrospective of her work opening in London in autumn 2026, the book features Devlin’s personal commentaries on each work, as well as interviews with her collaborators including Pharrell Williams and Carlo Rovelli.
Es Devlin is a British contemporary artist known for creating large-scale works that combine light, music and language to encourage the cognitive and behavioural shifts that are becoming ever more urgent in the context of the climate emergency. Her work has been displayed at Tate Modern, Serpentine and the V&A. She has created stage sculptures for Lady Gaga’s 2025 Coachella performance, Max Richter and Bad Bunny’s 2024 tours, as well as for Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar and The Weeknd.
