Cora has to perform the Fancy Shawl Dance in front of her whole school, but is she brave enough? This delightful Step 2 reader is perfect for children who recognize familiar words and can sound out new ones with help.
Cora and her family are Cherokee. She enjoys participating in Cherokee traditions with her family. She especially loves dancing in the children's Native American dance group. But when Cora has to dance in front of her whole school, she feels nervous. What if she forgets the steps? At least she has the most beautiful shawl ever, made by her grandmother! Find out how Cora overcomes her fear and celebrates her culture in this "window, mirrors, and doors" story.
Step 2 Readers use basic vocabulary and short sentences to tell simple stories, for children who recognize familiar words and can sound out new words with help.
Explore other Step 2 Readers with titles such as Uni's First Recital, I Am Powerful: A Positive Power Story, and This Makes Me Anxious: First Day of School!
