Buying a classic Corvette is never easy, and when the funds are in place to complete a purchase, excitement can easily replace common sense. A lot of information must be absorbed quickly to avoid making rash judgements that will be regretted later. This book is the perfect companion for the first-time or even the more experienced buyer. All the information is here to help make a clear and balanced decision, to counter the vendor’s claims, and even negotiate a better price. The author has bought and sold more than 700 Corvettes over 40 years, and his knowledge and enthusiasm will prove a vital resource for potential buyers. Having this book in you pocket is just like having a marque expert at your side. A unique points scoring system reveals the true condition of a potential purchase and the correct price category.
Tom Falconer bought his first C2 Corvette in 1971, and has owned and driven them for forty years. His first ’66 was bought while studying architecture at Newcastle University, where he started Claremont Corvette in 1977, specialising in parts, servicing, sales and restoration. The company moved to Kent in 1986. Repairing, restoring, and road-testing Corvettes daily gives Tom a unique insight and experience as an author. He has written nine books on the Corvette, and is a columnist for magazines on both sides of the Atlantic. His current Corvette is a 1964 convertible, restored by Claremont in 2003.
