In Country Music Comes to Australia, Andrew K. Smith charts the development of Australian country music from its genesis in the mid-1800s through the early 1950s. Finally, Smith also includes the full Rodeo and Regal Zonophone discographies—the latter being the largest catalog of country music in the world, outside of the United States, and published here for the first time in its entirety.
Andrew K. Smith is a retired psychometrician and educational statistician. He has previously written a biography of Australia's first country music star, Tex Morton: From Australian Yodeler to International Showman, also published in the Charles K. Wolfe Music Series by the University of Tennessee Press.
