Danebury Hillfort

An extremely well-preserved example of an Iron Age hillfort, Danebury is typical of many in Wessex but made exceptional by being the most thoroughly excavated and explored hillfort in the whole of Europe. Barry Cunliffe recreates the hillforts past using maps, plans, reconstructions and photographs, giving us unique insight into the great historical monument, the surrounding landscape and farms and the lives of Daneburys Iron Age inhabitants.
