**Out now: the hilarious and heartfelt book from Scottish footballing legend, Ally McCoist**

'It's a very Ally book. Characteristically entertaining, warm and funny. Not to be missed.' The Herald

'McCoist reflects warmly on his pathway from promising young footballer to international superstar and those he encountered along the way' The Times
__________

The Tartan Army. The Hampden Roar. The Auld Enemy. Following Scotland can be a thrilling, heart-breaking, and exhilarating experience.

Scottish footballing legend Ally McCoist has always been proud of his country's footballing legacy. After all, Scotland has the oldest international team and the oldest sporting trophy. Some even say Scotland is the true home of football...

In Dear Scotland, Ally takes the reader on an unforgettable journey through the Alba. He spends time with the best fans in the world, celebrates legends like Jock Stein and Kenny Dalglish, and relives some of the most iconic moments in Scottish history.

Reflecting on his own call up with the team and scoring that goal against Switzerland, to dressing room antics on tour and travelling with the Tartan Army, Ally recalls the memorable characters, unforgettable moments, and side-splitting stories that have shaped his own experiences.

Dear Scotland is a hilarious and heartfelt love letter and a tribute to being a lifelong, and sometimes long-suffering, footy fan. It reminds us why we love the thrill and madness of following Scotland.

Perhaps Scotland's best-known footballer, Ally McCoist MBE, has experienced highly successful careers as both as a player and manager. Ally began his playing career at St. Johnstone, playing there for a while before moving to Sunderland. Returning to Scotland two years after joining Sunderland, Ally signed for Rangers, a move that would see him over time become the club's record goal-scorer with 355 goals.

Ally also holds numerous other records for the club, including number of league goals scored, number of Scottish League Cup goals scored and most goals scored in European competitions. McCoist also featured heavily in Scottish international football during his career, gaining 61 caps and scoring 19 goals in the process.

Towards the end of his playing career, McCoist started his media career. Between 1996 and 2007, he was a team captain on the BBC sports quiz A Question of Sport. He is currently TalkSport's Sports Breakfast host, as well as working with TNT Sports on their Champions League coverage as well as commentating on the World Cup and Euros for ITV.

In 2023, he won Best Pundit at the Sports Journalism Awards.
