Big Cat for Little Wandle Fluency has been developed in collaboration with Wandle Learning Trust and Little Sutton Primary School. It consists of a range of chapter books with increasing word counts across 10 fluency levels aimed at children in Year 2 and 3. Each book builds reading confidence, stamina and speed and nurtures a love for reading.

Fluency 10 books have a word count of 5760 words with an expected reading rate of 120 words per minute.

When the Sykes family’s neighbour Doreen gets rushed to hospital, Oliver is left alone standing in her back garden holding her 10-week-old puppy. As Oliver gazes down at the puppy’s lost little face, he makes a promise: to care for her until Doreen gets back. But is it a promise he can keep?

Oliver is an award-winning author, poet and writer/performer. His critically-acclaimed debut children's poetry collection, We Are Family: Six Kids and a Super-Dad was published in May 2024 by Otter-Barry Books. His debut children’s novella, Alfie’s First Fight, won Best Illustrated Young Reader at the 2023 Children’s Literature Festivals’ Book Awards, and Alex Wheatle MBE described it as “Compelling!” When he isn’t writing, Oliver can usually be found performing his stories and poems and facilitating workshops all across the world. Oliver co-runs Your Story, a non-profit organisation based in Denbigh which collaborates with and for communities to discover and creatively share stories. Other books that Oliver has either written or contributed to include Alfie and the Thief, Fishing For Rainbows, Tales of the Weird, the Wild and the Wonderful and Tales of the Bold, the Brave and the Beautiful. He lives in Denbigh, North Wales.
