Inject adventure and excitement into Bible Study for teens: family devotions, youth group, school settings. Gain a deeper love for God’s word through a thirteen-unit companion to Shepherd, Potter, Spy—and the Star Namer. Immersed in the events of Joshua 9-10 and events of the Israelites’ last year of desert wanderings (O.T. Numbers-Joshua), read the holy text more closely. Add points of interest to a map of Canaan and visualize the historicity of Bible events. Follow internet links to reinforcement opportunities. Look at archeological evidence. Compare and contrast reader’s life with the Late Bronze Age. Through YouTube, learn two ways to sling a sling stone, cross the flooded Jordan River in a kayak, and explore the ancient border of Moab in the narrow 300-foot deep Arnon River Gorge’s raging waters. Short writing assignments inspire and motivate the student to read more and learn more.
The backstory of the Gibeonites (Joshua 9 & 10) bubbled to the surface while the author immersed in a chronological Bible reading plan for fourteen years. Growing up on a wheat farm, cooking for harvesters by age twelve, and graduating from college, she married the love of her life. Two children and five grandchildren later, experiences of farm life, three brothers/two sisters, and family motto of make do with what you have, give authenticity to the story and characters of the Late Bronze Age. Teaching Sunday school for thirty-seven years, planning annual Cousins Camps for grandchildren the past twelve years, she is State Chairman of Flower Show Schools for Texas Garden Clubs, an NGC Master Flower Show Judge, and a Texas Design Consultant.
