The book examines issues of disabilities in Nigeria focusing on attitudes and reactions to people with disabilities within the context of practices perpetuating the treatment of people with disabilities. It contributes to research in the field by advancing discussions on society’s positive engagement with disabilities issues and remediation of negative treatment of people with disabilities. Edwin Etieyibo is an associate professor of philosophy in the Department of Philosophy, School of Social Sciences, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. His teaching and research interests cover philosophy of law, ethics (theoretical and applied), social and political philosophy, history of philosophy, and African socio-political economy and philosophy.

Odirin Omiegbe is a reader or associate professor and holds a joint appointment in the Department of Educational Psychology at the College of Education, Agbor, Delta State, and in the Department of Administration and Policy Studies, Delta State University, Agbor, Delta State, Nigeria. He has researched and published extensively in the field of disability, cultural ideas and education of children with special needs.
