An illustrated journey through the wonders of science - one object at a time.

Perfect for children aged 7 and up, and ideal for nurturing a love of science and inspiring curiosity, Discover Science in 20 Objects is a boldy illustrated, accessible introduction to science through the lens of everyday and extraordinary objects.

Each spread explores a single item - from a falling apple to a smartphone, a fossil to a satellite - revealing the fascinating science behind it and the big ideas it represents. With clear explanations, vibrant illustrations and a narrative that connects history, invention, and discovery, this book helps children understand how science shapes the world around them - and how they can be part of it.

Anna Claybourne has written over 150 children's books on all kinds of subjects, from sharks, black holes and splitting the atom to how to draw, Shakespeare's life, and Greek myths and legends. She knows a lot about conservation in the rain forests of Costa Rica as she once volunteered there for three months. She likes space, sewing and music, plays the trombone and loves going camping. Marcelo Badari creates illustrations focused on ideas and characters, with pinches of humour and personal vision. He enjoys collaborating on projects, providing new ideas and insights. Recently, he has illustrated over 20 educational children's books and has just finished the illustrations of a series of 7 books about small sea animals that live at Brazilian beaches. He lives in Brazil in a small town near the mountains, where he goes hiking. In his spare time he enjoys creating music and videos.
