In Dogs of the World, animal illustrator Lili Chin introduces more than six hundred breeds of dog from around the globe in a captivating canine gallery, from the English Springer Spaniel and Moroccan Aïdi to the Thai Ridgeback and the New Guinea Singing Dog – as well as those dogs with no defined breed at all.

You’ll learn about different dog types and their working roles, such as herding, livestock guarding, scent detection, dog sports, and companionship; understand what terms like purebreed and landrace mean; trace the history of modern dogs through a vibrantly visual timeline; and pick up insights on breed health risks, personality traits, and how ancestry DNA tests work.

Featuring adorable artwork alongside rigorous research vetted by dog history experts, behaviour professionals and veterinarians, Dogs of the World is a loving and accessible guide to the diversity of our canine companions.

Lili Chin is an artist who is best known for creating dog-related art. When Lili is not making new illustrations and products, she creates infographics for dog-training professionals, veterinarians, behaviourists and welfare groups who advocate for humane animal-training methods. Her dog body language artwork has been featured in art museums, on television and world-wide educational media campaigns, and her dog-related posters have been a viral hit. She is the author of Doggie Language and Kitty Language. Lili lives in Los Angeles with her muse: her rescued, blue-eyed Boston Terrier, Boogie.
