Nine is the number of worlds in Norse mythology, the number of brains an octopus has ... and it’s the number of years you need to be before you open this book!

This quirky activity book for kids is jam-packed with things to do. Young readers can dive in and enjoy cool stories (including a choose-your-own adventure!), fun 9-themed facts and step-by-step ‘how to draw awesome things’ pages. There’s also engaging hands-on activities to try, such as ‘How to Draw Kawaii People’ and ‘Make the Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies’.

A celebration of all things nine, it’s the perfect birthday book for kids who are about to turn 9, with aspirational entries to help readers plan their best year ever – such as ‘If I Ran the World’, ‘This Year I Will …’ and ‘My Perfect Menu’.

With silly trivia, laugh-out-loud jokes, games and doodles to do, it’s also a great way to keep 9-year-olds entertained at any time of the year.

Lou Treleaven started writing just as soon as she could dictate words to her mum, and was soon writing her own stories, plays and poems. After being forced to grow up, she published many picture books including The Snowflake Mistake, which was read on CBeebies Bedtime Stories by Suranne Jones, and children's novels such as the Penpals on Pluto series. She lives in a village in Bedfordshire with her husband and grown-up children, and likes reading, art, gaming and her cat Badger. Lou is represented by the Caroline Wakeman Literary Agency.
