“Hilarious, vivid, endlessly clever, and filled with heart. The best new comic I’ve read in forever!” —Matt Dinniman (Dungeon Crawler Carl)

"You had me at magic talking eyeball shield. Brett Bean creates a fantasy world like no other! Don't be a dork, buy D'orc!" —Robert Kirkman (Invincible, The Walking Dead)

The perfect mix of Bone, The Dark Crystal, Discworld, and Monty Python, D'ORC is destined to be a new fan-favorite for years to come.

D’orc, the half dwarf/ half orc is fated to end the world because of some inconvenient doomsday prophecy from the Book of Certain Doom.

Armed with nothing but a magical yet ambitiously violent shield and a chicken with its head cut off, D’orc is caught dead center into Sunderaine’s never-ending war between the Light and Dark. Elves vs. Orcs. Wizards vs. Common Sense. Dragons vs. Literally Everyone.

Can he survive being hunted, blamed, and beaten by every human, elf, goblin, dwarf, Witch, Timelord, Ice Giant, three headed Dog, and at least three other unpronounceable magical creatures?

Join fan-favorite artist BRETT BEAN (I HATE FAIRYLAND, DUNGEON CRAWLER CARL THE CROCODILE), colorist JEAN-FRANÇOIS BEAULIEU (I HATE FAIRYLAND), and letterer NATE PIEKOS (MINOR THREATS) for a hilarious high-fantasy romp perfect for fans of CONAN, LORD OF THE RINGS, and of course, GERT's deadpan humor.

Collects issues #1-5.
Brett Bean is the creator of D’ORC, the hilarious high-fantasy romp from Image Comics and DUNGEON CRAWLER CARL: THE CROCODILE FALL 2026 with Vault Comics. His other works include Draw! A fan-favorite artist on I Hate Fairyland and Marvel’s Rocket and Groot, Brett continues to make puppet designs for Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, Variant covers, card art for Marvel Snap, animated films, TV, and more. He lives in Los Angeles with a bunch of redheads.

Jean-Francois Beaulieu is a comics colorist with a bright and exciting palette. He has worked on award-winning titles like Invincible (with Robert Kirkman and Ryan Ottley) and I Hate Fairyland (with Skottie Young).

Nate Piekos graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in graphic design from Rhode Island College in 1998. His font and logo designs can be seen worldwide, and he's the recipient of numerous awards, including the 2010 Rhode Island College Alumni Honor Roll Award for Success in the Field of Design.

In 2021, Nate authored The Essential Guide to Comic Book Lettering; the most comprehensive book ever written on the subject of lettering. In 2023, he was also nominated for the Eisner Award for Lettering, the comics industry's highest honor. Nate continues to work on some of the most high-profile projects for virtually every major publisher in the comic book industry, including Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Dark Horse Comics, Image Comics, and Boom! Studios.

Outside the studio, Nate cooks, is a guitarist, plays RPGs, and loves a good horror novel. He’s married to his college sweetheart, and together they live in the backwoods of Rhode Island with their faithful companion, Ace the Wonder Cat.
