The coverage starts in the late 1980s and continues to the turn of the century and beyond. Richard Allen’s stunning photographs encompass the traditional boundaries of the county, including those parts that subsequently became part of Cleveland and Tyne and Wear.
Richard Allen has been a keen photographer of the railway scene since the early 1980s. He lived in north-east England for many years and is a chartered electrical engineer working in the rail industry.
