Earl the elephant makes the perfect clubhouse for his friends... or so he thinks. He is shocked when his friends don’t like it! Then a new friend shows Earl how the clubhouse is perfect for Earl, but that everyone is different. He learns to look beyond himself and include everyone’s needs to make the clubhouse truly perfect for everyone.
Life can be challenging, and social and emotional skills play a huge role in learning how to cope with those challenges. The My Spectacular Self picture book series uses humorous and relatable stories to draw the reader in. Story-related discussion questions are included to allow caregivers and teachers the opportunity to help readers become more aware of themselves and others, helping each child become their most spectacular self!
Bryan Patrick Avery discovered his love of reading and writing at an early age when he received his first Bobbsey Twins Mystery. He writes picture books, chapter books, middle grade, and graphic novels. His middle grade story, “The Magic Day Mystery,” was published in 2020 in Super Puzzletastic Mysteries, an anthology from Harpercollins and the Mystery Writers of America. His debut picture book, The Freeman Field Photograph was published in 2020. Bryan lives in northern California with his family. Román Díaz was born in Mexico. Since he was a child, he always wanted to draw like adults. Now that he is an adult, he likes to draw like children. He's created illustrations for books, video games, and many other projects. He likes to eat colorful fruits and vegetables and admires animals in documentaries because it seems they have superpowers.
