A second in the series of Elf Twisty's adventures. This book follows her all the way from the north pole to windy Scotland travelling in a magical hot air balloon. Tinks, Pudding, Sparkle and Twisty set off through the night and unexpectedly drift on top of a windy hill in the middle of the Scottish hills only to find out that they are so far away from where they should have landed. While the other elves hide the hot air balloon in a remote Bothy, Twisty decides to go searching for a way down the hill, only to find herself getting lost amongst the clouds. Luckily she meets a very happy canine companion to help in the search for her friends. Follow her journey while she and Cooper seek shelter in a dusty old abandoned cottage for the night. Will she find her friends in time for Christmas? Will she be able to create a magical grotto all by herself? Only time will tell.

This book captures elements of Jo's own journey after moving so many times, trying to belong, making new friends and at the same time, missing her old ones too. She was inspired to take Elf Twisty to Scotland after moving there just before her first book was published. The original drawings from her first book 'Elf Twisty goes to the Safari' were sketched in a warm cosy cafe in Aberdeenshire even before she knew she would be moving there. 6 months later, thanks to her amazingly kind friends, she packed her car and put her trust in fate and never looked back. This is where the story truly begins for both of them.Nature has always been an inspiration for Jo's stories but this book is also inspired by friendship, kindness, imagination and hope. Each character is loosely based on someone who has touched her life and she has so much love and gratitude for each and everyone of her Elflings and other new characters.I wonder where Jo will take Elf Twisty and her magical friends next? Can you guess? Until then..... bonne nuit!
