Modern society's excessive focus on convenience and simplicity has led to a decline in human intelligence. It is essential for families and schools to rethink how we raise our children. Emergence emphasizes the cultivation of five types of intelligence: intellectual, social, emotional, ethical, and physical, meeting this existential reality head-on. With artificial intelligence on the brink of becoming integral to our daily lives, this conversation comes at a culturally critical time.
Jonathan Strecker is the Head of School at the Valley School of Ligonier in Pennsylvania. He started his educational career as a math teacher and Middle School Head at the Stanley Clark School in South Bend, Indiana. Later, he moved to The Woodlands, Texas to work as Middle School Head at The John Cooper School. He continued his education journey at Sam Houston State University and completed his Ed. D. in 2016. Now, at the Valley School of Ligonier, Strecker treasures his time working in a beautiful natural environment while helping children pursue wisdom, wellness, integrity, and community—the very attributes that have led to his own success in life. In his spare time, Jonathan enjoys writing, boating, and cheering on his Ohio sports teams. He lives in Rector, PA.
