He was formerly Chair of the Department of Political Science, Director of the Center for Environmental and Energy Studies, and Director of the School of Public and International Affairs at Virginia Tech.

Samuel Brazys, PhD, studies and teaches at the intersection of international political economy and the political economy of international development. He is Editor of the Journal of International Development.
