Discover the world of wine from classic regions to the new and unexplored, in the first extensive, all-new wine encyclopedia to be published in over a decade

Join world-renowned regional experts as they guide you through wines from classic wine-producing regions, such as France, Italy, the USA, and South Africa, as well as stopping off at lesser-known, emerging regions in Eastern Europe, Asia, and South America.

With detailed regional maps for major regions including Bordeaux, California, and Tuscany, photographs of bottles and labels to make it easy to identify what you’re looking for, and Producers to Try features for every region, making sense of the modern world of wine – from style to grape – has never been easier.

Editor-in-Chief David Williams is the wine correspondent for the Observer, the deputy editor of The World of Fine Wine, and a columnist at The Wine Merchant. He is a regular contributor to publications including the Guardian, Decanter, and Waitrose Drinks, with more than 25 years of experience in wine journalism and publishing. Author of two books, he has also worked as an editor for Wine Opus and the Finest Wine series. He has judged at a number of international wine competitions, and is the co-founder and chairman of the annual competition for wines in the UK’s independent wine shops, The Wine Merchant Top 100.
