He came to save a life. He left with a ghost from a past he tried to forget.
When DCI Brendan Moran is called to defuse a potential suicide, he's blindsided by the man's final words—and the ghost they resurrect. Liam Doherty, tormented by guilt and driven by justice, recognizes Moran and accuses him of a betrayal born in the bloodshed of 1970s Northern Ireland.
The encounter reopens scars Moran thought had long since healed. As he digs into the ambush that changed his life, he uncovers a dark web of deception, fractured loyalties, and secrets that powerful men would do anything to keep buried.
With a lost friend reemerging and the line between truth and memory fraying, Moran must decide how far he's willing to go to uncover the past. Because some ghosts refuse to rest—and some enemies are closer than you think.
The Enemy Inside is the sixth novel in The Irish Detective: DCI Brendan Moran series—a taut, atmospheric British detective mystery perfect for fans of Ian Rankin, Stuart Neville, and Line of Duty.
