Nick Jenkins is Professor of Renewable Energy at Cardiff University. Before moving to academia in 1992 his career included 14 years of industrial experience 5 years of which were spent in developing countries. In his current position he has developed teaching and research activities in electrical power engineering and renewable energy. He is a Distinguished Member of the International Council on Large Electric Systems (CIGRE) and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) the Royal Academy of Engineering and the Learned Society of Wales. He is also the co-author of a number of titles including Wind Energy Handbook (Wiley 2011) and Renewable Energy Engineering (Cambridge University Press 2016). From 2009-2011 he was the Shimizu Visiting Professor to the Atmosphere and Energy Program at Stanford University.
