Metabolic engineering is the actual engineering of metabolism-the reactions that sustain life. This book covers the need for cell engineering by starting off with several applications of plants and microbes followed by the approaches. The application of artificial intelligence(AI) and machine learning(ML) in this field, along with case studies, has also been covered. This becomes pertinent given the entry of this field in almost all aspects of living! Several examples of metabolic engineering have been covered to enable a reader to be aware of the concepts and developments.
ShivSanjeevi Sripathi completed his Master's in Biotechnology from Mumbai University in 2 8. He was awarded for academic excellence in both his Bachelors degree and Masters of Science for securing the second rank at the university level and first rank in his college. This was followed by a short foray into research on a stem cell project and later patent writing and immunoassays. This was followed by his entry into the teaching field where he taught biology and chemistry to  th and  2th-grade students along with English grammar and communication skills to people of all age groups. He is an author/co-author of books on biotechnology/life sciences (more than 5  published books), which are in several international libraries. These books cover several topics like "depression: insights", "quantum biology", "viral epidemics of the 2 st century", "yoga: research insights", "remote sensing in biology", "bionics", artificial intelligence in biology", molecular wires", "mitochondria", "stem cells", "nanotechnology", "camouflage" and "gene editing", to name a few. In his free time, he researches and gives talks on ancient Indian practices, temples and systems. This research compiles the science of traditional practices and how to interpret them in today's context. He has taught and interpreted several mantras and shlokas free of cost to a global audience as a service. He has appeared in a vernacular TV show (in Hindi) on a series of talks covering different temples and customs titled "Bharat ek punah khoj" (translates as searching again for the secrets of India) and on "Simha talks". His core belief is the ancient and powerful prayer "Tamaso maa jyotir gamaya" or "Lead us from darkness to the light".
