The author, making use of his collection of documents, shows the reasons for being assigned to the care of the poorhouse, the names of families and people involved and the outcomes for some of those who lived there.
Ger Carty is a native of Enniscorthy and last year wrote Enniscorthy & Districts which was also published by Nonsuch. He lived for many years in the UK and has returned home in his retirement> he has an impressive collection of documents relating mostly to his native town and county wexford and ranging from the 16th to the 19th century.
