Hugh Dolan, a storyteller with a keen interest in Australian history, has a unique ability to connect with young readers and even non-readers. His bestselling factual comics, packed with illustrations and driven by story, include Gallipoli: The Landing and Reg Saunders Indigenous Officer, which won Best in Category for Year 7, Australian Curriculum awarded by the Australian Educational Publishers Association. Hugh himself is the first to admit that at school he had difficulties reading but comic books like Asterix the Gaul and Tin Tin got him to first venture into a library.
