Made in response to the death of the artist’s sister shortly before the birth of his first child, Jason Reimer’s work ponders the meaning of life, death, suffering, and human nature. It does so in the form of a fragmented, apocalyptic narrative embodied within a book that utilizes multiple textures, substrates, and complex image sequencing.
Jason Paul Reimer is an artist currently living and working in San Diego, California. His work has been exhibited at Photobook Independent, 1975, the William Harris Gallery, and Gallery r in Rochester, New York; at the 2014 Pingyao International Photography Festival in Pingyao, China; at the Creative Center for Photography in Hollywood, California; at the Oceanside Museum of Art; at the 2011 Art of Photography Show, and at Luxe Gallery in San Diego, California.
