Andrew Weber is the author of 60 Hikes Within 60 Miles: Seattle from Menasha Ridge Press (Keen), now in its third edition, and also Easy Hikes Close to Home: Seattle. He has worked as a freelance journalist and photojournalist for various publications and written a series of articles about the Bears Ears region for MountainZone.com. He was also the Director of Content for Trails.com, where he was employee #6. He started exploring the Bears Ears in fall of 2001. From 2009-2011, he served as a ranger for the Bureau of Land Management at Kane Gulch on Cedar Mesa, the crown jewel of Bears Ears. He has now lived in the Four Corners region for a decade and has known many of the principals at advocacy group Friends of Cedar Mesa for several years as well.
