Have you ever wanted to travel to other planets? Maybe you’d like to dive to the bottom of the sea or walk among the dinosaurs. These things don’t seem possible. But with virtual reality they can seem real. Strap on a pair of goggles and grab a controller to fight in space battles, fly over mountains or even take a trip inside the human body. In this non-fiction graphic novel, Max Axiom and the Society of Super Scientists take a tour through the wonders of virtual reality to learn how it works, how it’s used today and what it might look like in the future.
Thomas K. Adamson has written dozens of nonfiction books for kids on sports, space, math, and more. He lives in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, with his wife and two sons. He likes reading and playing ball with his boys. He also likes to check scores and stats on his phone. Daniel Pedrosa was born in Araraquara, a quiet town in the interior of São Paulo/Brazil and since he was a child he has always had artistic, philosophical and esoteric inclinations. At the age of ten, his older brother gave him his first superhero comic (a Superboy edition from the 90's) and there he decided that drawing comics would be his profession. In 2010 he began his professional career doing comic strips for newspapers and drawing children's supplements for tabloids and magazines. Since then, his career began to expand and today the artist has publications for Criptozoik, Tildawave, Capstone, 137 Studios and produces advertising material for the largest Honda Motors store in Brazil. Erik Doescher is an illustrator that specializes in licensed art for publishing, style guides, and merchandising. He has worked in the industry for over 25 years, and his clients include DC Comics, Penguin/Random House, Nickelodeon, Golden Books, Hasbro, The Walt Disney Company, Capstone, and Warner Brothers.
