Christmas is approaching and sisters Cara and Evie have returned to the village where they grew up to sort through their grandmother's belongings and say a final goodbye to her home before putting it up for sale.

Evie is hoping she doesn't run into the man whose proposal she turned down years ago - and wondering, yet again, if she made the right decision.

Meanwhile, Cara is delighted to have an excuse to avoid her husband - they recently married after a whirlwind romance (one her grandmother did not approve of) and now she's filled with regret.

In the process of clearing out the house, they find their grandmother's wedding and engagement rings (put away after her marriage to their grandfather ended) but also a mysterious gold ring with a small diamond, which they have no explanation for. And they decide to start digging into the family history to try to find out...

Tara Heavey was born in 1970, missing the sixties by just ten days, in Croydon, London. The location of her birth is the only thing she has in common with Kate Moss, supermodel. She moved with her family to Dublin, Ireland at the age of eleven. She subsequently read Modern English and History at Trinity College Dublin, before studying law (why oh why) and practicing as a solicitor for five years (ditto). She has three children, an assortment of pets, and lives in the picturesque countryside of County Kilkenny.
She has had five novels traditionally published, including No.1 bestseller A Brush with Love, and has self-published eight novels. She has also published a non-fiction title, Nature Writing for Wellbeing, on the subject of journaling.
Tara has also had short stories published in two compilations and had articles published in various national newspapers and magazines. She has ghostwritten a novel and two memoirs, as well as working as a coach and editor. She is a certified journal instructor and has taught numerous creative writing classes, for both adults and children.
