FOOD! We all need it to live – and here is a book bursting with information, questions and ideas about the food we eat, where it comes from and how it is shared.

Is there enough food to go round? Do some countries have too much? Should we all eat organic food or go vegetarian? Where does the food on our plates start from and how does it get to us? Is farming making climate change worse – and, most important of all, how can we feed everyone on our planet, now and in the future?

Created by bestselling superstars Mary Hoffman and Ros Asquith, the team behind The Great Big Books series, this is a brilliant, inspirational and diverse exploration of FOOD, with witty and thought-provoking illustrations.

Mary Hoffman is the internationally admired writer of over 100 books, and her picture book Amazing Grace has become a classic of children’s literature. She has worked with many artists, including Caroline Binch, Jane Ray, Jackie Morris and Chris Riddell. She lives in Oxfordshire.

Ros Asquith is well-known as an illustrator and cartoonist (she drew a weekly cartoon for the Guardian for 20 years). She has published over 90 books for young people including many she has both written and illustrated herself, including the Teenage Worrier and Alien Schoolboy series. She lives in north London.

Ros and Mary have created ten books together since their award-winning Great Big Book of Families (Frances Lincoln 2010). Their books have been translated into 21 languages. Their previous picture books for Otter-Barry Books are Pirate Baby and Babies, Babies Everywhere!
