Ellen Labrecque has written over 100 non-fiction books, many of them about sports and athletes. She has authored 14 biographies in the New York Times best-selling “Who Was. . .” series, including one on Travis Kelce. Ellen grew up outside Philadelphia as a member of a die-hard Eagles family. Much to her chagrin, she now lives in a split home with New York sports fans. An athlete herself, Ellen played basketball and lacrosse in college. She has since retired her high tops and cleats for jogging sneakers.
Ellen is a former writer and editor at Sports Illustrated Kids magazine, where she wrote profiles on football players and other professional athletes and covered a variety of athletic competitions. When she is not traveling and checking off boxes on her football bucket list (seeing an NFL game abroad is at the top), she writes from Bucks County, Pennsylvania with her family and her dog Oscar (a definite Philly fan).
