This book is a penetrating comparative analysis of the economic development efforts of West African countries. R. OMOTAYO OLANIYAN is currently Economic Adviser to the Permanent Observer Mission of the Organization of African Unity to the United Nations. He is an Associate Research Professor of international economic relations at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs. Dr. Olaniyan has co-edited four books on economic development, and has published articles in scholarly journals on international development issues.
