Lee Stocks is Senior Lecturer and Course Leader for Game Art courses at Leeds Beckett University, United Kingdom. Lee's practice and research is centred around Games Design and Games Art, and is heavily influenced by communication and storytelling. His body of work and teaching practices range from game and level design to concept art.

Lee has made contributions to the creative sector since 2001, working as a game designer and concept artist/illustrator. The projects he has worked on range from online games, through to film/television and illustration. The fundamentals of art and design are at the core of what he teaches. Observation and drawing/digital painting being the two areas that he has identified as a catalyst for improving imagination and creativity.

Game design theory is one of the key areas that has benefited from this approach in his teaching. Lee has identified how idea generation and iteration are key factors in enhancing student's development. So, implementing the teaching of these observation and drawing/digital painting processes has become his primary technique.
