Celebrate walking to school in this colourful celebration of education and friendship!
Dawn is breaking and the village children are up and excited. Today is the first day of school and they have a long, long walk ahead of them. It won't be easy, but they keep going, because school will give them a future and the promise of freedom, so they march together to realise their dreams.
An inspirational story set against the vibrant landscapes of Barbados with an added non-fiction section at the end to teach children all about their empowering right to education.
Gillian Rowe is a co-founder of the literacy focused non-profit organisation Read For Life. In her role as a director she organised literacy and reading programmes across Barbados, Dominica, St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
