This book provides key information about the instrumental analytical methods which are the most used in quantitative analysis. A theoretical knowledge of each method is discussed. The methods are illustrated with several examples covering a wide range such as pharmacy, biochemical, environmental and agrochemicals analysis. It is structured into three parts: the first one focuses on separation methods, the second covers the spectroscopic ones and the third part develops the thermal and the radiochemical methods.

Gwenola Burgot, Pharmacist, PhD, formerly Professor in Analytical Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmaceutical and Biological Sciences of University of Rennes 1. Scientific adviser for the collection database "Techniques de l’Ingénieur". Her research interests and publications involve the determination by continuous adiabatic titration calorimetric method of physicochemical equilibrium, water/n-octanol kinetic and thermodynamic parameters of transfer of drugs and the optimization of analytical methods for quantitative analysis of drugs in pure form or formulations.

Jean-Louis Burgot, Pharmacist, PhD in organic chemistry and PhD in analytical chemistry – thermometric titrimetry, formerly Professor in Analytical Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmaceutical and Biological Sciences of University of Rennes 1. His research interests and publications involve the synthesis and study of the physico-chemical properties of 1,2-Dithiole-3-thiones and derivatives, and the determination of thermodynamic and kinetic constants of pharmacologically active compounds. He has published seven books in French and English.
