Carol Herring is an illustrator living in Southland, New Zealand. She lives with her husband and five kids in a country cottage - along with sheep, rabbits, dogs, cats, and a miniature horse, who happen to live outside the cottage. She specializes in children's books and has plenty of inspiration to draw from with such a busy household. She loves to paint with gouache when she has the time, and is inspired by many illustrators from her childhood - such as Richard Scarry, Mary Blair, and Alice and Martin Provensen.
