Adhering to Marxism as its guiding principle, this book is grounded in China's socialist fundamental system and oriented toward serving the practical needs of Chinese government regulation.

It emphasizes the necessity and urgency of developing a theoretical framework for government regulation with Chinese characteristics. This framework is an integrated system primarily composed of the fundamental elements of government regulation, including its legal system, regulatory agencies, regulatory methods, oversight mechanisms, and performance evaluation. The book systematically examines the theoretical foundations, systemic characteristics, and development pathways of these elements. The book also conducts empirical analyses across six representative sectors: energy, food, the environment, workplace safety, finance, and the new economy. Such analyses provide foundational insights for optimizing regulatory systems in specific domains and enhancing government oversight effectiveness.

This book will be valuable for scholars and students of economics, public policy, and political science.
