A joyous celebration of multicultural identity and the many ways our grandparents shape who we are, from debut Chinese-Australian author Jacinta Liu and acclaimed illustrator Freda Chiu.
I have two grandmothers.
One with brown eyes, and one with blue eyes.
One makes dumplings, and one bakes bread.
They are my grandmothers.
One lives in the East, and one lives in the West.
'A personal and heartfelt perspective on family and heritage . . . Readers who enjoyed Randa Abdel-Fattah and Maxine Beneba Clarke's 11 Words for Love or X Fang's Dim Sum Palace will find this picture book equally tender and big-hearted' BOOKS+PUBLISHING
Jacinta Liu is a Chinese-Australian children's book author and oracle card creator. She walked away from a successful career at a prestigious investment bank in search of something more. That deeper purpose surfaced when her daughter's life-threatening illness and recovery ignited a profound calling to write for children. Jacinta's debut picture book, Grandmother from the East, Grandmother from the West, was born out of her own personal upbringing, the struggle to define her identity and, most importantly, her deep gratitude and love for the strong women who helped to shape who she is today.
Freda Chiu (Illustrator)
