The fifth volume in a series of handbooks on graphene research and applications

Graphene is a valuable nanomaterial used in technology. The Handbook of Graphene: Graphene in Energy, Healthcare, and Environmental Applications is the fifth volume in the handbook series. The book's topics include: graphene nanomaterials in energy and environment applications and graphene used as nanolubricant. Within the handbook, three-dimensional graphene materials are discussed, as are synthesis and applications in electrocatalysts and electrochemical sensors. The battery topics cover: graphene and graphene-based hybrid composites for advanced rechargeable battery electrodes; graphene-based materials for advanced lithium-ion batteries; graphene-based materials for supercapacitors and conductive additives of lithium ion batteries. The book's graphene-based sensor information addresses flexible actuators, sensors, and supercapacitors.

Cengiz Ozkan obtained his PhD in Materials Science from Stanford University in 1997 and he is now a Professor at the Department of Materials Science & Engineering, University California Riverside, USA. His research areas include the bottom-up fabrication of bio-nano systems, metal-organic chemical vapor deposition of nanostructures, chemical vapor deposition of graphene, nanowire fabrics, photovoltaics and nanoelectronics. He has several US patents, over 40 patent disclosures and more than 100 technical publications.

Umit Ozkan obtained her PhD from Iowa State University in 1984. She is COE Distinguished Professor, Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at Ohio State University, USA. She has published more than 200 articles in SCI journals, 6 patents, and co-edited at least 4 books. Her principal research interests are Heterogeneous Catalysis, Electrocatalysis and Catalytic Materials; Sustainability, Energy, Environment.
