RUSSELL H. POWELL is the head librarian of the Engineering Library at the University of Kentucky, Lexington. In 1966, he graduated from the University of Pittsburgh's library school with a specialization in scientific bibliography. After serving as science librarian at Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, he moved to the University of Kentucky, where he has been for the past 25 years. During this time, he has written and edited several books, including Core List of Books and Journals in Science and Technology, coedited with James R. Powell and Handbooks and Tables in Science and Technology also published by Oryx Press.
