Dolores M. Huffman, RN, PhD, has been a nursing educator for over thirty years. In her academic career she has taught classroom health issues for elementary teachers. In addition, she has been employed as a community health nurse. In that capacity, she has worked with families of school-age children living with disability and has previously served as a camp nurse for special needs children. Her interest covers the health needs of persons across the lifespan. She is currently Associate Professor of Nursing at Purdue University Calumet in Hammond, Indiana, where she may be reached by e-mail at huffman@calumet.purdue.edu has been a nursing educator for over thirty years. She is also a certified sex therapist and maintains a private practice coun­seling individuals and couples. Her publishing awards include the American Journal of Nursing Book of the Year Award (2000) for Healing Practices: Alternative Therapies for Nursing and the Annual Nursing Book Review Sigma Theta Tau (2000) for Mental Health Nursing (4th edition). Her distinguishing academic honors include the Luther Christman Excellence in Published Writing Award, Gamma Phi Chapter, Sigma Theta Tau, Rush University (1997) and Distinguished Lecturer, Sigma Theta Tau International (1994–1995). She has also served on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Couple and Relationship Therapy since 2000. Bernadette K. Price, RN, MSN, CMM, is a nurse midwife in private practice. Previously, she had been Associate Professor of Nursing at Purdue University Calumet for 15 years. During her years in education she taught maternity and pediatrics courses as well as a course for elementary education students about health problems in the classroom. During her three decades in nursing, Bernadette has worked with infants, school-age children and adolescents in many different settings including staff nursing in maternity, clinic and office settings, home visits with new families, Healthy Start and Head Start programs and many community education programs.
